In both its name and its composition, Warda Al Oud pays homage to the excellence and traditions of Middle Eastern perfumery.
Its name is Arabic for rose oud, referring to its two primary ingredients, historically favoured as a pairing for the richness, depth and soft floral tones that bring out the best in each other.
The rose and oud are perfectly balanced here—neither one overpowers the other, which is rare in attars. I dabbed a drop on my wrist this morning and its softness carried me through the whole day without turning sharp. Exactly the kind of traditional layering I was hoping for.
The rose comes through soft and true upfront, but it’s that deep, smoky oud underneath that keeps pulling me back. A few drops last most of the day on my skin without turning harsh, which is exactly what I look for in an attar.
I’ve worn a lot of attars over the years, but this one hits that perfect balance between the two namesakes—the rose is lush, not screechy, and the oud stays warm and smoky underneath for hours.
